Las Vegas

I'm hoping you can help, I'm off to Las Vegas in May and the thrills of non-stop gambling actually don't do it for me. Could you tell me which is the best spa package in town? I'll definitely need a facial after the flight and a pedicure before going shoe shopping.

Miranda AllardMiranda responds: I completely understand your quest for the best spa package in Las Vegas if the gambling scene is not for you. Personally I would never recommend Vegas for a spa holiday as it must be one of the hardest places in the world to relax. However, if you are going anyway then a good spa will offer complete escapism.

I would choose The Four Seasons Hotel. Not only is it a fabulous hotel with exceptional spa but it is the only hotel in the area without a casino. Those guests wishing to enjoy a gamble in elegant surroundings have only to pop next door to the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino (which is owned by the same people).

The hotel literature describes its spa as “an oasis of serenity and refinement amid the sparkle and excitement of L.A.” Offering a wide range of treatments including traditional Balinese and Javanese Rituals this is a great place to enjoy a full day of escape or to unwind after an exciting spell next door! The Treatment menu is extensive and packages range from the two-hour “Savour the Simplicity” which allows a facial and massage of your choice, and costs $295 (£145), to the four-hour “Kuan Yin Package” at $545 (£260) which includes an 80-minute Janu Massage, a 50-minute Bali Sea Scrub and an 80-minute Four Layer facial. With 16 luxurious treatment rooms, steam rooms, meditation and relaxation room as well as a well equipped gym this spa lives up to its claim.
